Halo

Ive been doing some research. It seems that the next installment of the Halo: Combat Evolved series is not Halo 4, but Halo Wars. It serves as a prequel to to the trilogy of Xbox games. Its not a first person shooter like we have become accustomed to in Halo - it is a strategy game, similar to Age Of Empires.

It is set in the years leading up to the boarding of the Pillar of Autumn, when the human colony ship Reach was carrying its most precious cargo - the hundreds of genetically engineered and purposely trained super soldiers called Spartans. The game chronicles the wars that ensued with the alien Covenant and ended ultimately in the destruction of Reach and almost all of the Spartans.

Im looking forward to it coming out, but im a little disappointed that there is no Halo 4. Oh well. This game is supposed to revolutionise the strategy genre, and transform it from PC only to console aswell.

There is also a movie that will be made on the Halo universe - well there was. Peter Jackson was set to direct, they had a script and they even made the Warthog, but pre-production stalled when Jackson bailed. Now it is a 'dormant' project, and by all reports not yet dead. Apparently it will be made, its just a matter of how long.

They released some images from scenes in a proposed script, which looks pretty damn good. The script is more true to Halo: Fall of Reach (the novel that was written detailing the lead-up to Halo 1), and it shows all the Spartans in training and so forth. They were still undecided whether it would be animated or live-action, but i reckon it should be live-action. It worked with Star Wars and Transformers, why not Halo?

This post is mostly for the Mulks as you can tell, but let me know if you think you would go and watch it?

Brownlow

Last night was the prestigious Brownlow Medal count. Being 18, i set up a TABsportsbet account just for this occasion. I placed 4 bets, totalling $50. I had:

$5 on the top three polling Geelong players to be Bartell, Ablett, and Corey, in that order, to win $20

$5 Multi on the brownlow winner to be from Geelong, and for Geelong to win the GF by 40+ points, to win $21.25

$20 Multi for
Riewoldt, Cox, Cooney, Judd, Swan, Pavlich and Harvey to all top their teams in polling, to win $69.40

$20 Multi on Judd to beat Corey in votes, and for Cooney to beat Riewoldt, to win $66.60

As we all know, Cooney ended up pipping Black, who was winning all night, with 24 votes. I lost the first one, as the order ended up being Ablett, Selwood, Corey. I also lost the 2nd bet as Cooney isnt from Geelong. My third was looking good until Kerr whipped Cox with 8 votes to 3, and even Riewoldt lost by a vote or two to Lenny Hayes.

I did, however, win the last bet! Cooney obviously beat Riewoldt, but it was hell nail biting with the Judd-Corey thing. Corey was on more votes the whole time except for the last 2 rounds. But Juddy pulled through, to win over Corey 16 votes to 15. So all up i won $16.60.

My Dad won $30 cos he had $5 on Black to get 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

My Mummy won $90-odd because she put 5 each way on Cooney.

Anyway, i gots to run. peace

Big One

Yes the weekend was a big one.

Friday arvo Kel came over for a bit of pool and a bit of Flight of the Concords. I was steadily dominating him in pool so he thought he would try and put me off my game by 'raising the stakes' or more accurately, making some stakes. I wasnt keen on money so i said whoever wins got a beer bought for them. I won the game convincingly and offered Kelly a rematch with, not double or nothing, but double or flip, just to tempt him. He said, and i quote, "I've never walked away from a challenge".

Needless to say he lost and owed me two beers that night.

My parents and i got to the Vasse at about 8, and Kel got there with Morgs around 9, and Garreth not long after. It was pretty quiet at first, but it warmed up around 10 when all the young crew came in. I made my first horse-racing bet, but lost embarrassingly, but lucky it was Dads shout. He won it back two races later. We got a Jager-Bomb before they stopped doing it, which was hell good cos i didnt have to buy as it was my Bday sorta, and they are hella expensive.

At 11 they shut and we slowly made our way to the Nard, stopping to have a tandem piss of course. They let me, and more importantly Kelly, in without checking IDs. Maybe cos he looks like a redheaded Wolverine, who knows. It was way more hardcore there, and there were a few fights around closing time. It was still good but, and Schutsy was working behind the bar so me and Kel got pints for the price of middies. Except he gave us guiness which tastes like it looks - like boar water. Then some dude i knew from East Perth was there and recognised me, which sucked in the end cos he starting kissing me on the cheeks and squeezing my ass, so i learnt to avoid him pretty quick. Even Kelly got a kiss from him, which i think Kel enjoyed. It was about 2 when we got home, thanks to Morgies Mum.

Then Saturday i watched Wanderers their 15's GF. Pretty good game, they only won by 8 points. After that i had work, but i managed to sneak off at 9.30pm without signing off so i didnt risk getting kept behind for polishing. It was a signature Brock move, deviously sneaky. Got to Rob's (Seia, hell good soccer player dude) going away party in Carbanup. Pretty good, knew a few people which helped.

Then Sunday went with Pagey to watch him play league, where Busso won over Souths, but Ressies lost in their earlier game at a different ground. They are both in the Prelim this coming weekend.

And that was my weekend.

18th

Well those of you who dont know it was my birthday yesterday, and im now a man. To celebrate, Jarryd surprised me with his presence and we went to the Vasse for some chippies and middies (which im now legally able to purchase) and saw G-Love too.

For my special day i got a southbound ticket, some shaving stuff (a hint im thinking), and some money. Oh a a fair bit of alcohol and a dvd, Flight of the Concords, which i havnt seen yet but is supposed to be hilarious.

And i also got to work, which was nice. Not really, cos we have had another person quit so we are up to 6 in 2 and a half weeks. But i did get some good tips!

Now im gearing up for a big weekend - i cant wait.

peace

Extravaganza to Embarrassment

Man wednesday was absolutely crazy. That morning i woke up at 6 to help Steve Rutter deliver the Dunborough papers (the Mail) to all the markets and stuff, cos im doing it for him next wednesday as he is on holiday. It was pretty fun, and easy. Basically just cruising around packing heat, in the form of newspapers.

Then later on Jackson had his Music Extravanganza at school. He has copped a fair bit of shit about it from the rest of us, you know, we make all the poofter jokes and stuff. So he's basically got huge balls to still go ahead and do it, and he ended up singing Im Yours (You'll love this Kel), by Jason Mraz. He got the hugest applause when the MC dude announced he was about to sing, everyone loves him at that school hey. Im hella jealous. Anyway here is a link to the youtube vid of it, its worth it.

So on the way home from that, after picking all the kids, we are driving along and we stop at the Lights near mulks house cos its a red light. You sort of have to stop for red lights. And then the engine does this weird thing and starts shuddering, then stalls. Mum tried to boot it up again but it wouldnt go, and we realised then that the Petrol Light was on for a reason. So here we are, right in the middle of the intersection at peak hour, and we have no idea what were gonna do so we just flip on the hazard lights and Mum calls some friends. One of them was nearby so she said she was on her way.

So we are waiting for her, and then this school bus of older kids, like 1 or 2 years younger than me rock up right next door. I was about to die of embarrassment but then i got over it and realised pretty quickly that it was a good photo op, so i got the camera out and filmed the situation for everyone. Im pretty sure that everyone thought i was a hell big tool but who really cares? I tired to put the vid on here but it took too long, i will try again on youtube.

In the end, Mums friend came and helped us push the car around the car where we abandoned it. It was a pretty shit 10 minutes it fair to say.

End of the Week

The weekend was pretty uneventful it must be said. Friday night Kel came over and we watched the footy over a couple of beers, while i dominated him in pool. As always. And i teased him about being a fan of Jason Mraz. I mean everyone is, but only the punces make it public!

On Saturday i placed a wager on Collingwood to win by less than 20 points but being such a dismal team, they let me down. Thats $5 ill never see again.

I went and watched the 17's Preliminary final against Dunsborough but they had too many options in attack and went on to win by a few goals. Mike Robbins proved again how much of a champion he is.

Then that night i had the pleasure of working at Abbey for the GMAS Ball. I was expecting it to be for the students but i got a hell big surprise when i got there and it was all adults. Apparently they were raising money for the school or whatever. Anyway it was a better function than most, cause i knew plenty of the people there like Dog and Julie Kelly, as well as Brad and Donna Fraser, and even Sam Rix was there for some reason. They had unlimited alcohol provided so most of them were pretty sloshed by the time they got their main meals. Its fun watching parents drunk.

I didnt really know what i was doing so i just tried to walk around and look like i did. Then i went over to the bar under the false pretense of needing a Lemon Lime and Bitters made for a customer but there was a disturbance there. Apparently some lady had come down to the bar like a minute earlier to tell Adam the barman that there was a 'domestic disturbance' (which is the proper term for some dude is bashing his woman) in the room above her. There was heaps of arguing and the cops got called in to sort that shit out.

Apart from that the night went smooth as, except for when i had to stand at the door as everyone left so they didnt take alcohol out of the premises. Everyone was trying all these sneaky mover but i wouldnt have any of it.

Yesterday the Reserves and League played in their finals at Hands oval. Reserves won in a thriller against Scary Park where they were protecting a 2 goal advantage against a 3 goal breeze to win by a goal. League did hell good up to half time to only be 2 points behind HBL at half time but then they dropped and lost be 5 i think.

Anyway, thats all for now, i will let you if anything exciting happens over the next couple of days but im not expecting it to.

Im off.

Demotivational Posters Pt II

Here's some more Lambda Boys Demotivational Posters - lets just say i was... motivated. Haha. Takes like 2 minutes so i did a few of them. Same drill, click to enlarge, i will make them small thumbnails otherwise it takes too long to upload. Let me know what u think.

Especially the ones about Brock haha.

Demotivational Posters

I discovered a truly humourous phenomenon the other day while surfing the good ol' net. I unearthed motivational posters, and more to the point, their spin-offs, demotivational posters. Here is one of my favourites, which i think you will like. Maybe not the Mums reading this actually. But defintely the boys:

So it got me thinking... Almost any pic can be turned into something funny with the three part punchline. So here is one that i made using some original photos.

I am hoping to conjure up some more, but i need more photos, so if anyone has an idea, photo or anything, let me know. Oh, and just click to enlarge the images if you are finding it hard to read. If you are, you're probably a mum.

Better. Mostly.

Thankyou all for your messages of support and blessings, i'm almost better.

OK, on the weekend at Abbey it was the biggest function of the year, 280 pax for two straight days. A lot of people you might say, and correct you would be. Well, because of my sickness, i had to bail on this massive function. Now i can hear your thoughts.... What a coincidence, the only time he gets sick, it just HAPPENS to be the BIGGEST function of the year... yeah right... And i can understand that point of view cos its what i would be thinking. But i have an alibi: Garreth.

You see, ever since this great, great man stopped working at Abbey, it hasnt been anywhere near as fun. However, being such a big function, they decided to call in a favour with the man they call 'G', and they got him to come in on Saturday. I was so amped about working with him again that i was devastated when i realised i would be too sick to work. He isnt happy about it either, wont Msg me back or reply on facebook.

I might have to send him flowers or something.

I had the worst sleeps over the weekend, but none worse than Monday night. I had been watching Seinfeld all day having been crook and all. But when i fell asleep i was caught in this weird, recurring limbo place, and all i would do i move my car down a one way street and argue about women from the 80's with George Castanza. It was really unusual, and gay, cos it kept happening over and over again. In the end i somehow came to the conclusion (half asleep) that i would have new dreams if i took my pants off. It didnt work.

Anyway i just want to let it be known how lame Brock is for not liking Tropic Thunder as much as me. But what can you expect, the guy likes High School Musical and stuff.

Its my birthday in just over a week so Brock, Jarryd, Mulks: If you want to come over here for a couple of hours to celebrate then fly back, youre welcome to. Really, you are. And if you dont, it means you have to by me a present. I didnt get you guys any but then again at least i was there when it was your bday. So get my a present and we'll call it even.

And it better not be a bag of rice like you got Jizzy one year.

Im off like Gary Lion on the stretcher hahahaha

New Plan

I had a massive-ass Carlsson-sized headache today... Not to mentions other stuff, so i was feeling pretty sorry for myself when i got to work, but good cos i wasnt being a pussy. But after like 2 hours my head nearly exploded, so i thort it would be wise to let my bosses know that i might not be well tonight.

So now i get tonight off. And just as well, cos im gonna sleep and drink water til i dont want to do either anymore.

Wish me well, wont you?

Marathon

the reason i havnt updated for a few days is that nothing has happened here. Seriously. Except that Rhys Palmer won the Rising Star award and Cyril got second.

Well today is the marathon day. I was hell looking forward to it.... not. But yeah, i actually got a bug a couple of nights ago so im in a bit of a dilemma. If i call in sick, it will look like im a pussy, bailing on the biggest function of the year. If i go in, i have to try and make it through 13+ hours of work, and i struggled with 5 yesterday. Catch 22.

Tonight is the start of the finals for those who dont know. My finals team is Geelong, cos my favourite player plays for them. My finals is for dream is for Collingwood to get absolutely smashed by Adelaide in the first round of the finals. Oh the bliss.

Anyway, i have to be in work in half an hour, and i better have a shower, as good as my B.O smells.
Peace

Get Some!

Watched the worlds funniest movie last night with a few of my most favourite people in the world. Pagey and kel were there, as well as Ally and TD. But i am sidetracked, cos i want to tell you all about that fateful movie: Tropic Thunder.

Me and Kel decided afterwards that we want to watch it again so we could remember all the funny quotes and shit... There was so much to quote, like in Anchorman, where every second sentence is hella funny. Here is my amatuer review.

* * * Warning: Here Be Spoilers * * *

Favourite Bit: When Kirk Lazarus is cornered about whether he is a poppy or paddy farmer. They ask 'What do u farm?' and he cant answer so he just whips out his guns and yells 'FARM THIS!' and pops caps in all the baddies. After they all fall, he says 'Im a Lead Farmer, Mother Fuckers!'. Absolute classic.

Favourite Character: Tom Cruise's character, Les Grossman. He was so original that i had no idea it was Tom Cruise for about 5 minutes then it hit me. Nearly made me piss myself when he told an Asian terrorist to ' take a step back... AND LITERALLY FUCK YOUR OWN FACE!!!'

Favourite Quote: Kirk Lazarus when he is having a clash with Tugg Speedman. ' I know what dude I am. I'm the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!'. Its confusing on so many levels.

I seriously recommend everyone watch it cos its hell action packed and the 2nd half especially is pure gold. Including Tom Cruise's wack dance in the closing credits.
